-Is this an MSDN Managed Newsgroup?

-If not, where do we turn for driver questions??

I no longer see it in the list of MSDN Managed Newsgroups:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/aa974230.aspx

I suspect the answer is "no", because my recent posting "Modems supported on
Windows PE?" never got answered.

Microsoft is no longer doing managed newsgroups. They're dropping the
practice.

They are migrating many of the newsgroups to web forums.
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com. I'm not sure there are any driver forums
yet. There are forums specifically for MSDN support questions

Oh, boy - they're pulling the rug from underneath us :-P

Thanks for letting me know! Now I need to figure out this new beast...so
far, the social site has struck me as being mostly in Chinese.

Just switch your newsreader to lists.osr.com and add the ntdev group.

Leo,

Does the OSR server require you to log on. I am getting an error message
when I try to switch to their server.

Regards,

George.

You do have to log on, go to http://www.osronline.com for details. The
OSR newsgroups NTDEV (driver development), NTFSD (file system
development) and WINDBG (debugger) are well worth it. Quite a lot of
senior Microsoft developers answer questions on those lists.

Don,

Is there a direct link that describes how to subscribe to their news server?
I tried the user name and password that I use to log onto their web site,
but it doesn't work with the news server. Sorry to be obtuse but their main
page is packed with information and the process is evidently less than
transparent.

Regards,

George.

P.S. Rather ironic that MS should answer questions on the OSR newsgroup when
they almost never (aside from Doron) answer questions here.
